During setup you choose Deck Cadet / OOW, Marine Engineer / ETO, or VTS Operator / Pilot. Your track reorders the module hub around your goal and highlights the modules that matter most for it. If you would rather see everything, choose the exploring option during setup and the full catalogue opens without a filter.

Every module opens free. Level 1 includes two free plays and Level 2 includes one, so you can feel each module’s format before paying anything. Levels 3 and above are part of Deck Pro. Free plays are per module, so trying one module never spends another’s.

Free-play counts are kept in your iCloud Keychain, which survives deleting and reinstalling the app. That is deliberate; it keeps the free tier fair. Your training progress, on the other hand, lives only on the device and is removed when the app is deleted.

Both unlock the same thing: unlimited training across all levels of all 35 modules. Weekly is an auto-renewing subscription you can cancel any time. Lifetime is a single one-time payment with nothing recurring. Prices for your region are shown in the App Store before you confirm.

Install the app, open the paywall and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID you bought with. This restores Pro itself. Practice progress stays on the old device, because the app has no account and we hold no copy of your data.

Open iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Deck Aptitude Test, and choose Cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Pro until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds follow Apple’s policy. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, but email us if you get stuck and we will help with the request.

Yes: use both earpieces, set a comfortable volume before starting, and never raise the volume to rescue a difficult question; if you cannot hear a difference at a moderate level, that is information about your current level, not a reason to turn it up. The audio modules include spoken figures, radio-style traffic and synthesised whistle signals, and they are all playback only. The app never uses your microphone.

Use full screen brightness, turn off Night Shift and True Tone, and sit in even lighting without glare. The module checks a control plate first to confirm your screen is showing colours usably. And the important part: it is screening practice in a familiar format, not a medical test. Seafarer vision certification requires an examination by an approved practitioner, and no app result can stand in for that.

That is the mastery system working. The app records which lights, buoys, flags and signals you miss and brings them back first, because spaced repetition of your weak areas is what moves scores. Result screens explain each miss so the repeat is a second lesson, not a punishment.

Real selection tests vary by company, academy and country, and their exact content is confidential. Our modules are original training material built on the publicly known formats those tests use. Expect the skills to transfer, not the questions to repeat. The app is independent and is not affiliated with any examination provider; treat official sources as authoritative for what your specific test contains.

There is no account, so we cannot transfer progress for you. Restoring your new iPhone from a backup of the old one carries the app’s data across. Pro itself is restored with Restore Purchases on any device signed in with your Apple ID.

Tell us which module, which level and, as closely as you can, what the question showed. Our generators are rule-driven, so a genuine error is usually fixable at the rule and disappears everywhere at once. We read every report.
